Our Mission
Limited access to debt financing for SMEs is the most serious barrier to entrepreneurship. Development Bank of Bulgaria meets the financing needs of the Bulgarian SME sector which the private banking system does not cover or does so only in part.
The mission of the Bank is therefore to develop by spreading best market practice market niches, which are still underdeveloped on the Bulgarian market. Bulgarian Development Bank is thus called upon to contribute to the successful implementation of the State’s economic policy through providing a full range of financial services to SMEs, thus becoming the financial partner of enterprises.
Our Objectives
The prime objective of the Bank is to promote businesses and to create a favorable financial environment promoting the establishment of new and the development of existing SMEs – a crucial factor for increasing the competitiveness of Bulgarian companies making their way to the international markets. In accordance with the purpose of its establishment, the applicable legal framework and its Articles of Incorporation, Bulgarian Development Bank AD is focused on the following activities:
*Providing financial support to economically, technically and financially feasible and environmentally sound projects of SMEs;
*Promoting the country’s export capacities;
The principal financial tool for the implementation of these objectives is the extension of medium- and long-term investment credits directly to final beneficiaries (SMEs) and with the intermediation of other commercial banks, (Partner banks). Another instrument used by the Bank is the export and pre-export financing offered to Bulgarian companies from a large number of industries.
